He completed M.Sc. in Plant Physiology and Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Microbiology from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He worked on uptake and distribution of micronutrients in the plant system (rice) during his Ph.D.  He studied specific distribution of zinc and iron in the grains of rice in plants treated with plant growth promoting rhizo-bacteria. He has also qualified the CSIR-NET and GATE in Life Sciences and ARS-NET in Plant Physiology (2009) and Plant Sciences (2010).

His research interests include Photobiology, Plant Nutrition, Nutrient Uptake and Distribution in plants & use and application of Nanotechnology in plant based systems. He has expertise in using equipments like AAS, HPLC and Hydroponic systems for the plant growth.

He has 9 research publications in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented his works in various National and International conferences and seminars.
