Jalandhar, March 9
Sashastra Seema Bal and DAV University, Jalandhar (Punjab) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the education of children of Sashastra Seema Bal personnel. This MoU was signed in New Delhi by Shri Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Inspector General (Admn), Sashastra Seema Bal and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, of DAV University, Jalandhar.

The collaboration aimed at providing higher and quality education to the children of martyred, serving and retired Sashastra Seema Bal personnel. DAV University would offer 100 seats to the wards of martyred, serving, and retired force personnel on the nomination of SSB. In addition to these 100 enrolments, children of all other martyred SSB personnel, serving and retired force personnel would also be provided quality education at affordable rates in this university.

SSB is an armed border guarding force of India deployed along its borders with Nepal and Bhutan. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). DAV University is established by DAV College Managing Committee, one of India’s largest non-government educational organizations overseeing a network of over 900 institutions across the nation.
Shri Daljit Singh Chawdhary, Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal along with senior officers of the force and senior officials of DAV University including Registrar Dr Sanjeev K Arora and former Registrar Dr K N Kaul were present at this occasion. The event was witnessed by the force through video conference and this programme.
