An Induction program for newly admitted students was organized by DAV University for the session 2022-23. The event was marked by the presence of distinguished officials of the University- Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Dean Academics, Dr. R. K. Seth, Deputy Director Physical Education & Sports, Dr. Yeshbeer Singh.
On this occasion, Havan Yajna was organized to seek the blessings of Almighty for the fresh begininings of the academic session.
Langar for faculty and students
The Induction programme commenced with DAV Gaan. During the Induction programme, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jasbir Rishi, encouraged the students to become self-reliant and make every moment at the university useful for their future career. She further said that mental health is as important as physical health. She advised students to follow a proper regime so that they can become stronger in every aspect. Students should try to attain overall development in sports, extra-curricular activities in addition to academics.
Dean Academics, Dr. R. K. Seth, during his address advised the students to work towards their personal and professional development, which in turn helps in the upliftment of the nation. He also encouraged them to work hard in their respective fields to achieve success. Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, Deputy Director, Physical Education & Sports encouraged the students to actively participate in sports activities. He gave a brief on importance of sports in student life, its role in acceptance at various organization and sports curriculum of the institute All new students were briefly informed about NSS, NCC, Cultural activities,various clubs and activities of the university.
The students were also made familiar with the University campus. Student council of the university guided the students to take a round of the University campus and various departments. The students were inform about the value added and short term courses. The students were also made acquainted with the leave rules attendance and discipline in the campus. New students also participated in the cultural items.

On second day, Dr. Manju Deorari led a session focused on the benefits of yoga and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The session included practical demonstrations of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques. Dr. Bedi conducted an engaging discussion on core human values, ethical behavior, and their application in professional and personal contexts. To familiarize participants with the institution’s examination policies and assessment tools, a session was arranged on various assessment methods, evaluation criteria, and examination policies. It provided clarity on how assessments are conducted and the standards expected. Dr. Pallavi Khanna presented a lecture on heartfulness, emphasizing the importance of emotional intelligence, compassion, and self-awareness. The closing session included a summary of the programme’s key points, acknowledgments, and an open floor for participant feedback.
