In a dedicated effort to empower and equip its female engineering students, DAV University Jalandhar organized an extensive 18-day training programme on cybersecurity. The university collaborated with the ICT Academy, with sponsorship from Honeywell, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The primary goal of this initiative was to enhance the skill sets of female candidates pursuing degrees in B. Tech CSE, BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Sc. Mathematics, providing them with essential knowledge to excel in the ever-evolving world of technology.
The comprehensive discussions during the training covered various facets of cyber security, including cyber threats, forms of cybercrime, cyber law, fraud, and hacking. As a token of appreciation for his commitment to this collaborative endeavour, the ICT Academy presented Prof Dr Manoj Kumar with a Centre of Excellence.
The training programme placed significant emphasis on the critical importance of cyber security in today’s digital landscape. The event commenced with an inspirational address by Vice-Chancellor Dr Manoj Kumar, who underscored the institution’s commitment to delivering practical, knowledge-based education that prepares students for success in their technical journeys.
During the programme, Mr Abinandhan Pandey, state-head NCR, ICT Academy, delivered a compelling keynote address, emphasizing the critical need for widespread awareness about cyber security and cybercrimes. He outlined preventive measures that individuals must adopt to protect themselves from falling victim to these threats. Mr Pandey highlighted that cyber security is a concern for modern organizations worldwide.
Mr Ravi Sharma, Manager Academic Operations and Mr Vishal Sharma, Expert Trainer, ICT Academy said that the collaborative efforts would go a long way in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
