Amardeep Kaur Crowned Miss Teej, Ishika Babool Grabs Runner-up at DAV University Gala

In a dazzling spectacle of talent and culture, Amardeep Kaur, a student pursuing MA in English at DAV University, has been crowned Miss Teej (Student) Ishika Babool, a BA LLB student emerged as the runner-up with her poise and elegance resonating strongly with the event's essence. In a competition for the employees, Sanjana Cheema, assistant professor was declared Miss Teej (Employees) and Neeraj Gupta, accounts officer was declared second.

The event, a celebration of femininity and strength, unfolded under the auspices of the Department of Students’ Welfare, leaving the audience captivated by the extraordinary showcase of artistry.

The day also pulsated with a vibrant array of performances that epitomized the rich Punjabi culture. Talented students of DAV University took to the stage, delivering enthralling dance renditions, heart-stirring Sufi performances, spirited Bhangra displays, soulful singing, poignant poem recitations, and the lively Giddha, each act weaving a tapestry of tradition and modernity.

Tarveen Kaur, a life coach and judge of the competition, addressed the students, urging them to orchestrate a harmonious equilibrium between their academic pursuits and leisure activities, a crucial facet for holistic growth.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice-chancellor of the University, in a message encapsulated the spirit of the event, highlighting the significance of Teej as a testament to the indomitable strength and potential of women. He emphasized the occasion served as a poignant reminder that women have the power to overcome any obstacle and achieve remarkable feats.

A special Mehndi stall, thoughtfully arranged by students, catered to the female students and staff, infusing the occasion with camaraderie and inclusivity.
